DISTRIBUTION OF WHEELCHAIRS ALONG CHILE - August 15, 2022
Alejandra, in charge of moving patients within the different services of J.J. Aguirre University Hospital, expressed the following:
The wheelchair donation to the hospital has been a tremendous help. Because of budget restrictions we did not have enough wheelchairs available, and many of the ones we were using were in bad condition. With this donation, we can work with quality wheelchairs that are sturdy, secure, and comfortable for our patients. Having enough wheelchairs is timesaving and makes our workload easier, being that we move a minimum of 4,500 patients every month.
We are very grateful for this donation.

Wheelchairs were donated to the CESFAM (family public health center) of the rural community of Tamaya and the six other rural clinics in this area of Ovalle. This part of Tamaya is towards the mountainous part of Chile´s 4th region, Coquimbo. It is estimated that this area holds around 150,000 people living in precarious situations of poverty.
These wheelchairs are designed with a flexibility that adapts well to this type of irregular dirt and rocky terrain.
